Who we are

Outwreck is a free browser game run by Andreas Tsiampos (Ανδρέας Τσιάμπος) ("we"). For anything about your data, write to tsiampos03@gmail.com.

What we store, and why

• A random device ID created in your browser, and the player name you choose. They tell players apart, keep your stats, and stop people from playing against themselves.
• Your wallet address, only if you choose to connect a wallet. It keeps your profile and ranking. Wallet addresses are public on the blockchain; we never get your keys or any funds.
• Game data: fleets, shots, quick-chat phrases and timers of online matches. Match rooms delete themselves 24 hours after the last move.
• Stats per player: games, wins, shots, hits and how long each shot took. We use them for the leaderboard, your career progress, and to spot cheating bots.
• Card payments (card, Revolut Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay) are handled by Stripe. We never see your card details; Stripe tells us the payment went through, and we keep the payment reference, amount, what you bought and the device ID it went to. Stripe keeps the email and payment details you give it, under its own privacy policy.
• Items on your game account and your restore code, linked to your device ID, so your purchases work and can be moved to another device.
• Wallet purchases and market sales happen on the Base blockchain from your own wallet. They are public there by nature.
• Your Knots balance (the in-game currency), today's earnings and your Knots trades, linked to your device ID or wallet.
• Designs you send in the Designer: the design, its name, your creator name and your wallet address (where your share is paid). Published designs show your creator name publicly.
• Feedback you send us, with the contact you give (optional).
• Your IP address, only for a few minutes, to limit how many requests one connection can make. Our hosting provider also keeps short technical logs.

We have no ads, no advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not sell or share your data for marketing.

What is public

The leaderboard shows the name, rating, record and a shortened wallet address of players who connected a wallet, on this site and on our Discord server. If you post a room or share a victory, your player name appears on our Discord server and in the share card.

On your device

The game saves your settings and progress (language, sound, difficulty, career, sign-in session) in your browser's local storage. We use no tracking cookies. Clearing your browser data removes all of it.

Legal basis

We process this data to provide the game and the purchases you asked for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), to keep payment records the law requires (Art. 6(1)(c)), and because we have a legitimate interest in running a fair, working game and keeping it secure (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Who handles it for us

Vercel (hosting; our servers run in Frankfurt, Germany), Upstash (database, Frankfurt, Germany), Stripe (card payments; Stripe Payments Europe, Ireland) and, if you use Discord features, Discord. Vercel, Stripe and Discord have US parents and may process data in the US under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long

Match rooms: 24 hours. IP rate-limit counters: up to 10 minutes. Payment records: as long as tax law requires. Player stats, profiles, items and feedback: while the game runs, or until you ask us to delete them.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, or to get a copy. Write to tsiampos03@gmail.com and include your player name or wallet address so we can find it. You can also complain to the Cyprus Commissioner for Personal Data Protection (dataprotection.gov.cy).

Age

Outwreck is meant for players aged 14 and over.
